skis move slow in GS

Hey well its Bambam again and Today was my second day of U14 championships and I didn't ski out but yesterday I did that.  I was really disappointed because it was slalom  and that is my event but I got over it by going to a hot spring and that was a blast we had so much fun. We went in the river and there were two hot springs and one was 102degrees.  It was really hot and you had to cross the river to get to it and we went over there and found out it was burning and ran back across the river. That was how I got over not finishing and it was the best.
Now today was GS and first run was terrible I was so disappointed but I made it up on second run and I was so happy and my sister took second so she was super excited and she qualified for the duals and we just got back from them she took second and got three medals and she is super excited. The duals were great I hiked up to the start and my coach put me as a coach.  My coach gave me two bags of candy for my team mates before they run but I was getting hounding by them instead so I ran away and that was truly my day now I must go to bed, so good night.

To be Judged

To judge a person by the way they act, walk, and move is wrong. Charlie Gordon got judged for the way he acted because he had a birth defect. Charlie was constantly compared to other children and judged because he was different. Charlie doesn't have a lot of friends because he has a disability and is judged because of it. When Charlie says "smart" people have more friends, he means to say that people without disabilities can make friends better and have more friends. Disabled people have different challenges than people who don't have disabilities. Challenges that Charlie may have on a daily basis may pertain to social life and friends. Because Charlie has a disability, people judge him and don't want to become his friend. People might not want to be friends with him because they don't want to be judged themselves for being around him. Instead of judging someone for there looks, people should get to know people and know them for their personality instead of what they look like. It is not fair to be compared to other people without mental disabilities because it will make him look more stupid. He has to face more challenges than normal "smart" people because he has to think more because of his disability. It is not fair for mentally challenged people to be judged because it is not their fault that they have a birth defect. Charlie was being judged for being different, don't be that person judging someone who's different

Intelligence:

Inkblot tests:

An inkblot test is a personality test that makes you say what you see in inkblots on a piece of paper. There are different answers that tell you what type of personality you have or different psychological problems. These tests can tell you what you need to help make yourself happier and a better peson. The inkblot test originated from a Swedish Psychiatrist from the name of Hermann Rorschach, the test being called the Rorschach test. Over the years, because of how it looked, the test was soon known as the inkblot test. This test is used on mental patients, or used during normal therapy sessions.

Human Intelligence:

Human intelligence is how we identify "smart" people. Every person is intelligent in their own kind of way. People who have high IQ's are considered incredibly intelligent while people that have mental or physical disabilities have a moderate form of intelligence. When it comes to who wants it more, people can't just become smart, they have to work hard and earn it. There are a few people who are so smart, it comes to them like the snap of the fingers. Sadly, even if they try as hard as they can, people with mental disabilities can't change the way they think or learn. These two groups of people face the same hardships because of the way their brains function. Because they are either above the curve or bellow, they might become easier targets for people who are jealous or angry towards them.

IQ tests:

During my online IQ test, they quizzed me on around 40 questions on a single scale. They asked me True or False questions and explicitly told me I could not use anything except my mental powers. No paper or pencil, just me and my synapses. They quizzed me on questions such as, "Can you create 6 identical triangles by drawing 2 straight lines in an octagon?" They also asked me questions such as, "If a doughnut shaped house has 3 outer and 3 inner doors, can you walk throughout the whole house without going through a single door twice?" After that, they emailed me my results. It reported that I scored a 119 on my test, but its not the most accurate test to be given as it only quizzes me on one scale.

In Flowers for Algernon, Charlie Gordon is a 37 year old that wishes to be smart so he can have more friends.  We think that people who have average intelligence probably have more friends then someone mentally disabled. That doesn't mean that they are not good friends, it might just be because people might not want to be around them. People like Charlie might have the challenge of not being able to do the things that people around them can do, like reading and spelling. They also might have trouble being on their own, they might not know how to do certain things like cooking. Some smart people have challenges like being bullied and if they are really smart they might not have any friends because they have people taking advantage of their smartness. These are the challenges that certain people may have.

"Smart" People

Acceptance is an issue we all face from the time we are born. Whether it's fitting in during junior high, or having a group of friends in elementary school, we all want to be a part of something. This is a problem for people with disabilities since people don't easily accept people who are different. People with disabilities are bullied because they are unique, and are isolated instead of embraced in a group. This makes it even more strenuous for them to find true friends and create relationships with other people.

In Flowers For Algernon, a man Charlie challenged by his disability believes that if he was "smarter" he would have more friends. By this, Charlie means to say that it is easier to make friends without an impairment or disability. He thinks if he was "smart" he would have more friends. This concept seems accurate at first until looked into deeper. In our world no two people are alike, and finding people to relate with is really difficult, even for people without disabilities. Some of the smartest people in history like Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, and Isaac Newton didn't have excellent friendships either. Although it seems easy, making friends is much more demanding and challenging than it seems. Charlie though, is right on one thing, it is harder to make friends and be accepted when someone is different. People tend to bully and tease others who aren't the same and are quirkier than the rest. For Charlie he is made fun of constantly at work but he doesn't notice it because he believes this is how friends are. To find friends is difficult for everyone, not only those with disabilities.

Intelligence Exposé

There are two ways you can be smart. You can be smart, as in intelligent, or "smart", as in normal. Charlie, the main character in Flowers for Algernon, wants more than anything to be "smart". Charlie is a people pleaser. He wants to be normal and to have friends, so he thinks he will have to become "smart" to be accepted. You see, with people like Charlie, they want to be loved just like anyone else. They want friends who are normal, and they want to be treated like they are normal as well.

Intelligent people are more like Charlie than you may think. They're so intelligent some people don't get them and label them as "stupid" or recognize they’re intelligent and stay away from them. My Dad is one of the most intelligent people I know with and IQ of 168. He was valedictorian at his high school, yet people used to make fun of him because of his academic success. Society tells us being smart is a good thing, but then they look down on us because they know we are different. People who are not intelligent are afraid that the people who are will find them out. People like Charlie, who are innocent and so much smarter than they believe, they are the ones who can and will realize that being "smart" isn't the only trait that defines you.
The real reason that Charlie wants to be “smart” is because he wants to be accepted. He isn’t the only one that feels this way. Every single person on this planet has felt, at some time or another, that they aren’t good enough. They feel like they have to change to be accepted in society. In a way, they’re right. Good paying jobs are rarely, if ever, offered to people like Charlie. I can’t blame the employers, though. Every company wants the Harvard Honors student with an IQ of 140 working for them. That’s just the way the world spins.

Parting is such sweet sorrow, so here's a parting gift.

Skiing

Skiing this year has been fun, for the most part. We barely got any snow this year. What's up with that. Utah is supposed to have the greatest snow on earth. Well not this year. When I go skiing it gets my mind off things. Skiing season is almost over. He haven't even had 30 days with some awesome snow. Everybody loves to go out to the mountain and have some fun. BUT, we can't do that if we don't even have good snow. Winter, when I know that winter is coming, all I can think about is the snow and skiing and just having a good time. Skiing is my life. I go skiing with all my friends and family. I love going to the train park and hitting some jumps with my best friend Lucy and with my boy best friend Jr.

Why Disabled People Looked at as Different

A person that walks down the street and walks different, talks different, or looks different are looked at as an outcast.  This is entirely wrong because they are human, not an alien. Do you think they ever chose to have a birth defect?  Do you think they want to be seen as different?  No, these people think that they are the same as everyone else and they are except for how they learn.  In the the movie Flowers For Algernon the main character Charlie Gordon has a learning disability.  To him all of his actions are right, but to others he isn't doing anything correct.  In the movie, Charlie was listening to Ms. Kinnian, but when he was listening her he picked up a paintbrush and was rubbing it on his nose.  To him that is completely normal, but to us it is weird.  When we someone with a disability and they are doing something different just accept what they are doing and just roll with it.

(Andrew) The first time I saw a disabled kid was at a pool.  He had down syndrome and was stomping, splashing, and yelling.  I thought that he was going to hurt someone so I got scared.  I asked my dad what was wrong with him and he said that he had a mental disability.

(Lane!) The first time I saw was at school in fist grade. He acted out, and made loud noises. I wondered why he was acting out. My mom later explained to me why different kids are like that and how they are different. From then on I always tried to be extra kind to the kids with disabilities.

Smarts..

The word smart is a relative term that is often is involved with education not the actual ability of the human mind. When someone is "smart" they can comprehend information better than the average person, but that isn't what smart is at all. The official definition of smart is, informal having or showing a quick-witted intelligence not getting all a's. In my opinion there are two kinds of smart, School smart and Street smart. School smart is what most people think of when they talk about intelligence. Street smart is the kind of creative smart that people often overlook in the field of intelligence. Charlie from the film "Flowers for andranon" wants more than anything in the world to be smart and live a normal life to please himself and others.  His need for friends has pushed him to agree to have an experimental surgery to become smart. But everyone is smart, even though people can not think or connect the same as others doesn't make them dumb.

People With Mental Disabilities

Wendy, Vincent, Ally

Flower of Algernon. Charlie is a guy with a mental disability. Charlie has trouble making friends. He thinks that if he becomes smart then he can have more friends. When it comes to friends, smartness isn't everything. People are different. There are many other things that can make you have friends. You can be nice, outgoing, a nice person, just a person with a nice attitude. In our school there are many different kids. We have the sport players, the cheerleaders, the smart kids, the jocks. Charlie has many challenges like learning, paying attention, making friends, and being bullied. How many friends a person has is determined by how likable they are, how humorous, and how many people they know. A lot of kids see the smart kids like geeks. But that's not all we should see in them. We should see their personalities and what they like to do. Not about how smart they are. Then there are those kids who see kids and say that they're dumb because they might not understand something as well as they can. People with serious mental disabilities have a really rough time making friends. Not so smart people have a lot of different problems than smart people do. Not so smart people can have financial problems because they don't have a good enough education to learn all that is needed to do all that. Another problem that people with disabilities have is that they don't know where to place their money. A problem that smart people is that they have a hard time keeping track of what they spend their money on. Most of their problems can be about where they work. Charlie cannot make friends easily because he has a mental disability. People don't except him for who he is.  Their disability impares their social skills.

friendship and IQ

There a tons of people, some smart and some not. Some of these people can not help it though, people like Charlie. Charlie's definition of "smart" and most people's definition of smart are different. I think Charlie's definition of smart just means a normal person without a disability. He want to be smart, or not have disabilities, so he will have lots of friends, and no problems. The truth is, "smart" people have lots of challenges as well. Not all "smart" people have tons of friends, either. A lot of "Smart" people mostly get bullied, which means, that they may not have a lot of friends. They also have everyday challenges, with work, school, friends, or family. I don't think charlies realized that even "smart: people's lives are not perfect. We do think though, that people with disabilities like Charlie's do not have as many friends as normal people, and have most everyday challenges too, more than "smart" people. Most people don't like being around people with disabilities because it make them uncomfortable. People with disabilities also run into more problems because they may not know how to deal with them. That is why Charlie want to be, as he calls it, "smart."

My name is Nick, I live in Park City Utah. I have lived here for about a year and a half, last year in december I moved here from New York. I play Hockey for a team in Salt Lake City called "Team Northwest Regulators". I have played hockey my whole life, I had skates before I could walk but my mom didn't let me use them until I could walk on dry-land. When I lived in New York I had a small outdoor hockey rink in my back yard, everyday after school I would go play hockey and then do my homework later. In Utah I don't have a hockey rink, but here I get to do something I could never do in New York, it wasn't allowed and I didn't live near one, but I get to play pond hockey. Pond Hockey is one of the most fun thing to do. In New York if there was a pond and people tried to play hockey on it the town mayor wouldn't let them because if someone got hurt he didn't want to get sued, but in Utah nobody cares about stuff like that. I liked living in New York but I like it here too.

Mountain kid

I am Nick. I live in ParkCity and I think there is nothing better than living in the mountains. There are so many different sports here. You can go skiing, golfing, mountain biking, and there even sports like hockey lacrosse, and football. My favorite time of the year is winter because it is time for snow and the hockey season. I love these two sports and they take up most of my life. Skiing is probably one of the best sports out there because there amazing views and unbelievable place to ski. I also wanted to go ski one of the mountains in Alaska like in the movies. I have been skiing since I was about 3 and I can do about every run you though at me. The best part about skiing though is when there is waist deep powder and the snow is lightly falling down. There is nothing better than a day like that.

Hockey is also another sport that I love and make winter my favorite time of the year. The one moment that change my life to begin a life long journey of mine was the day I step onto ice when I was 7. There first time I tried hockey, I was a brick . I was always was on my bum. There were rare times where I was able to make it though three strides then fall but I always had a smile on by face. I began to get better and better now I am on a travel time and it is so much fun. The scoring of goals or racing someone down the ice there is nothing better than that.

The Me Show

“ Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much”- Oscar Wilde

Welcome Internet predators! I am happy to be abducted. Just be sure to give me a little forewarning. I would like to be able to lock the doors. If you happen to catch me on the streets, I’ll be happy to come with you, so long as the van has candy and free Wi-Fi.
My name is Alexia. I was born in Hong Kong. I’m just your average OCD person. If I don’t fix the crease on my bedspread, I believe bad things are going to happen. Oh, and I always have to shut the door the right way. You know you’ve done the job when you hear a sweet clicking sound and are unable to open the door unless you bend the handle.
After reading an article on the intelligence of chickens I became a vegetarian. My parents tried to make this transition as hard as possible for me. On Saturday my mum baked shepard's pie (my favorite). On Sunday my parents took me out to a nice Italian restaurant where they serve a delicious sausage and vegetable pasta. However, I remained strong and didn’t cave.  When Tuesday rolled around I just couldn’t handle it anymore, and that phase in my life rolled to a close.
Thanks Mum and Dad. Thanks a lot. The chickens really appreciate it.
Since you’re here, and I’m being forced to post, I might as well write a little bit about my amazingly awesome award winning day. Here it goes:
6:15- Wake up at this ungodly time
Hong Kong
6:20- Brush my teeth & hair
6:25- Dress
6:30- Hide under the covers
6:40- Breakfast!
7:10- Go to school
7:20- Freeze while walking from drop off line to school door.
7:30- Art
9:03- Walk into the glorious Ms. Hookers room.
That’s all that’s happened so far. I just know that your heart was pounding when I hid under the covers.

Love you, care about you, mean it!
Alexia

Me and My Sports

Most of my life is about skiing and snowboarding. I started skiing in Montana, then I got interested in snowboarding and now I try to do it every weekend. Just like skiing, I like to do other sports as well, I like basketball, volleyball, golf and rollar blading. In basketball I love to make a basket like anyone would and I love to do it from as far away as I can get. Volleyball, I love when the ball bounces off my hands and goes over the net, it makes me feel powerful. With golf I love swing my arms and hit the ball and to see how far it goes, to see it go farther then expected is one of the greatest feelings ever. Last, with blading I love how fast I can make myself go and how much control I can have.

There are also sports that I mostly just like to watch, like football and baseball. Football is a great sport to watch because there is a lot of excitement and anticipation. With baseball you never know what pitch they will throw or if they will hit it. Wondering if they will strike out or go all they way for a home run. Sports have such a great effect on people today, we set up special days to have a party and watch them. We even paint our bodies and go to a stadium to support them. One day maybe sports will not be such a big thing but in my opinion I'm pretty sure that sports in the US or even in other countries, the viewership and the ticket sales will increase greatly.

My Student Life

Free time doesn't come easily. My life is school, dance, homework, sleep. That's how life is during Junior High. School days are long, and homework is slow. But here I am writing about my life. I'm fourteen years old and still growing. School is going good and my grades are as good as ever. I am making sure my grades stay up so my parents dont get mad at me.
Jay Jay Moy Moy is on the left and I am on the right.
It is currently snowing here in Park City. My friends and I aren't very happy about that. :( I really want it to be summer, so I'm counting down the days. Third quarter is just ending, so we have tons of tests and work. It is studying and homework time for me. Not much else except dance. When I do have free time, I hang out with my wacky friends, and bake with my wonderful mother. Baking fondant cakes and yummy cupcakes with my mom is so much fun to do.

These are desserts I have made.

Lately, I have been playing guitar and singing with my friend Megan. We are best friends, and have helped each other learn the guitar. We play duets together on the guitar and sing songs that we like. This is my way of calming myself down. This is my guitar.

I am hoping to get more free time soon when the fourth quarter starts. We'll see if things change, but for not stay strong and take it all in.

Since the Introduction of Earth

Hello, my name is Vladimir Puchnicov and I am a nice man. My friends call me Adam so you all too. I enjoy long walks with my dog, and climbing tall trees. My dog also tries to climb the trees. He never makes it up the first branch. His name is Heffy and he has golden fur. He is definitely a pack animal and thinks he is the leader. He does have powerful legs that make him somewhat dominant. Sometimes I like to lie down in the snow with only my swim-trunks on. It makes a burning sensation when I jump into the hot-tub which makes me feel good in a weird way. I always find it entertaining when I see a body print melted into the snow. I also enjoy making money and spending it. I have a problem with not spending my money on useless things that only look cool so now I just don’t have money with me. It is because I don’t have any money. I spent it all on “stuff.” I hate the sound of styrofoam when they squeak together. It hurts my ears and grinds my teeth. I am currently unemployed and have applied to join Landon & Co. They are very new and I will get a good job. Hopefully I will receive good pay. By good pay I mean at least 1 dollar an hour. That is a great pay job. That is all for today.

With bounds of enjoyment,
Vladimir Puchnicov (Adam)

The Gemmamazing Extravaganza

Welcome to the Junior High Preserve where I, Gemmamazing will be your guide. In this wonderful world of teenage life, there are several twists and turns that those who enter must be aware of. For the gregarious giggles heard from Hooktopia, can be easily mistaken. The music blasting from Gaudetia may or may not be a dance party. With me as your guide, you will not have to fret for, I know the way to survive it all. I promise, there is a world beyond the sadness and despair of teenage failure! Before we can embark on our treacherous adventure through the depths of the Junior High Preserve though, I must introduce myself!

For I am the Incredible Gemmamazing, although my peers recognize me as Grace. I travel the halls of my treasured world with pride. My daily routine consists of aiding those unfamiliar with the realms of the world I abide. It only took me a few weeks to learn the basics of the Junior High Preserve, with some troubles though. I knew that others would have these troubles too, so there rose Gemmamazing, out to help those with teenage distress. From locker combos, to gossiping girls, I strive to aid those in need. I am not perfect either, I still have daily doses of dilemma. My grades fluctuate throughout the year, my emotions rise and fall, and sometimes I'm consumed with my studies. Most of it winds up being quite entertaining though. Sometimes it seemed  and but eventually I knew what I was doing, and it was all well. For I knew the way to escape the preserve, and enter my secret After School Land.

A world of humor, homework, and acting, is where I roam to after leaving the Junior High Preserve. It's wonderful, besides the floods of homework, and the storms of late night stress. My bittersweet moments are washed away by rehearsing and acting all night. I no longer worry about humongous history projects, or the rumors that fly around, instead my thoughts clear my head as I enter the stage. It's a mystical thing, walking onto a lit stage. For some it creates nerves and stress, but I gain happiness. All and all, my world is magnificent for I am indulged with the happiness of laughter and performing on a day to day basis. I must say that I strive to give people advice. If someone needs help, I rush over to see what's wrong. This has been a talent of mine ever since I was little and it's been quite helpful. I believe that by telling my tales at the Junior High Preserve, others will see that they can survive. I mean, that's what Gemmamazing is all about. If I, Grace, can live through seven hours of daily studies, so can you!

As your guide, I will provide you with facts about myself while we travel through my teenage realms. For instance, I love humor except crude humor, so we don't do that here at the Gemmamazing Extravaganza. I may link a joke, pun, or hilarious photo at the end of my posts for your enjoyment... and mine of course! I also love music, I listen to almost every genre. I may add a new favorite song! At the Gemmamazing Extravaganza, there will never be a dull moment.

Welcome to a world of my dramatic misfortunes and pleasant surprises, welcome to the Gemmamazing Extravaganza.

Save this dance

Dancing delicately through swirling tutus. Thats me, dancing is my world, without dancing I would be no one. Pointe shoes, jazz shoes, tap shoes, I dance with these shoes through thick and thin. I'm getting ready one shoes at a time, it competition season and I'm the star. The blistering feet for the past few weeks are all worth the shining lights and clapping people.

Point those feet, stretch those legs, stage presence! Juliana stresses, stopping the music and pacing the length of the mirror, to the speaker and back, speaker and back, speaker and back, and back again. "We don't have enough time, we can never completely re-choreograph an entire dance a week before the next competition." Juliana expresses. Our dance from the following competition was weak and needed spunk. We could never show up at this competition with the same boring dance. "The song is quite and horrible for dancing, if I could choose any other song in the universe, I would never chose this one." Juliana states.
"Let's at least make this as good as possible." Paige pipes up.
"Okay, that's true, we can only make this better, from the beginning everyone." Juliana gains confidence and stands, walking to the front. " This is a ripple, Alta and Hayden followed by Beth and Morgan." Juliana screeches.

Four hours and one completely reconstructed dance later, we are finished. The dance actually looks half way decent, know we just have to clean it. Oh, my feet feel as if they are burning into flames, they blister in every direction. The next rehearsal is horrid, painful blisters burst in ugly, red splotches on my tights. My feet are angry but the dance looks perfect. I can't believe that we perfected the dance. The next class we had Sarah as our coach. She helped us clean our dance and make it perfect but because we had all been on pointe for three days of straight rehearsal, our feet are dead and bloody. Once we practiced our dance for hours with Sarah. Juliana came into the rehearsal and watched the dance. She was so excited," Wow, I can't believe this, it looks amazing, do it one more time, just to make sure it wasn't lucky." Even though our feet hurt, we dance our dance one more time.Once we finish dancing, Sarah says," It didn't look as good but I know your feet hurt," Then Juliana says," We are ready for the competition girls!"

A brief summary.

I'm Landon and I've got a Company but I just call them Co. My Company has been active for a whole 13 1/2 minutes now and I've become pretty successful. Even though I have a popular company don't bother trying to search it on the internet, it's not like it doesn't exist my company is just a little shy. As the president of my very popular company I feel the need to tell you about myself. I enjoy playing baseball, I have been playing for about nine years and my position is catcher. I have a pet rat, her name is Clyde, she’s brown and white and is about five inches long and will be fully grown at eight inches. I also have a pet bird, his name is Dixie. He is about 3 1/2 inches tall and green, blue, and orange and will tear off your finger if you put it anywhere near his mouth. I’m, currently broke that is the reason why I started my very successful company. I have pet peeve with the noise of velcro, when ever I hear it’s like the noise of a guitar getting feedback from the amp while a teacher with long metal nails scratches a a chalkboard into a bullhorn. I really hate the noise. Well now you know a little about me plus I’m out of things to write on this current post. Thank you and Landon and Co. is currently looking for sponsors.

Sincerely,
Landon
President of Landon & Co.

Park City

I was born to be in the mountains.  Although I was born back east the mountains are the place for an Andrew to thrive.  So much to do outdoors and enough to keep you active for a year.  Andrews bike, hike, backpack, wakeboard, aggressive skate, build trails for biking, ski, sled, and messing around in the mountains.  All of those things are what happens in everyday life of an Andrew.

In the summer home is a place to sleep and eat, but once you get outside that is your living room.  When ever I take a step outside I am hit with a wave of relaxation.  The warmth of the desert air and the smell of the earth is killer.  Along with the air the trails in PC have the exact flow.  From the Trailside bike park to the trails in the Canyons the opportunities are limitless.

When ever you ski in Park City you will never see any place the same again.  The snow is as if you are on a pillow in the clouds.  Although the past 2 years have been pitiful we have had some ok days.  When the snow falls strongly the air in PC is anxiousness.  Every single person in Utah is eager to get up on the mountain and ski the fresh snow.  The very first face shot you get the thought in your head is that, "I am never leaving Park City."  That is what I think at least.

Today Isn't All That Different

A combination of faces. Each has a different story. All designed by me.
While we may have this new assignment in class, today really isn't all that different form any other day. I got up too early this morning, ate too small of a breakfast, and feel way too tired for it to only be 10am. Well, c'est la vie.
I guess a bit of an introduction is in order. My name is Isabella. Obviously, I am of the female persuasion. What?  Don't look at your screen like that! How many guys do you know that are named Isabella? That's right, maybe one, but probably not even that many.
Back to me. All I really have to say is that I'm not the most normal person out there. I collect Doctor Who and Star Trek paraphernalia like it's going out of style. I am a Fleet Admiral at the Christa McAuliffe Space Education Center, and I am almost Order of the Federation, which means that I have spent almost 72 class hours and 72 flight hours in "outer space." I also follow their blog, The Troubadour. Basically, I am a serious sci-fi nerd. I'm also a poet. Here, look and see:

Roundabout and Back Again
On the town
Down and out
A sullen frown
For a roundabout
A sweet Queen's crown
And a moments doubt
Put you down
To the roundabout
A sullen frown
Down and out
On the town
In the round about

That's my newest poem. It isn't much, but I wrote it, so it makes me proud. So, to sum myself up as well as I can in a sentence, I would say that I am an intelligent, artistic, crazy, dark, interesting, song-singing, poem-writing, face-drawing, food-cooking, sci-fi loving, geeky girl. That's me, and I'll be sticking around here for a while, since today is just a normal day, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Here's a fun parting gift. You're welcome.

Each day I get to school a little bit late, shove my backpack that I’ve had since I was in the third grade into my locker and take a seat in my first period class that, seems to lag on into infinity although it is only an hour and a half. Then when I think I’m about to die the bell rings and I get to go one room over into majestic Julie Hooker territory, HOOKERTOPIA! The minute my worn out sneakers step through the doors barrier the world light up and babies smile and unicorn begin to poop candy! (By the way I am NOT only writing this to get extra credit, although it would be nice.)

Anyways, I take my seat in the corner and pull out a pencil I have found in the hall. I think I sit in the corner because I’m not trusted, but Mrs. Hooker says that it’s because I’m a “social butterfly”. I don’t think that is very accurate. I don’t have any wings and how can I be social if I’m locked away in the corner!? Mrs. Hooker plops a pre-write on my desk and in a nice, yet intimidating tone says  “Now class, begin writing AND NO PREGUNTAS!! I am going to sit at my desk. Kyle is in charge.” That was this morning, and every red day since the begging of the 8th grade. Now she has us writing these silly class blogs that no one will read! Sigh.. this year was suppose to be easy, I was suppose to fly right through this year no problem and now I have to update a blog every time I breath.

Well since I have this blog, mine as well make it the most amazing most spectacular and entertaining that it can be! This blog will most definitely include, pictures of cats with bread on their faces, shameful dogs, memes about thoughtful dinosaurs, and last but not least harlem shakes galore! Everything that makes a good internet spot will be seen. My name is Jayne and I will be your guid through the inter-web! I am an 8th grader at a middle school in utah and thats all I'm gonna say( I don't want creepers to offer me candy and free wifi in the back of their vans)

That's all I have fo now... Nice to meet you internet people :)

The Lone Wolf

As you know, I am the coolest Nick, although others might tell you otherwise. I am cooler than ice itself. There is another Nick in our class that's a try-hard poser, he thinks he's cooler than me, but we all know that's not true. Anyways, I am the strongest, best looking, tannest person in the entire school. I am hot and cool at the same time, and yes, I can make that possible. Before school, everyday, I do 500 pushups and sit ups in 5 minutes. My GPA is a 5.0, and am planning to skip my junior and senior year of high school and go straight to Harvard, and I am my own role model. Being the lone wolf I am, I hunt alone... Or at least this is how I am like in my dreams.

I am Nick C. Is Cooler Than The Other Nicks, and I approve this message.

The Life of a Park City Teenager

Every day I get up in the morning at 5:45 so that I can drive to school. Teenagers need sleep the most out of all people, there performance in school will increase dramatically if teenagers have more sleep. When students get to school they whine and groan about the lack of sleep they got because of the mass overload of homework and then topped with the two hours of sports most teenagers participate in.

After school, I either have to ride the bus home or my mom picks me up, either way, it's a 30 minute drive. Once I get home from the long and treacherous drive, homework begins. Later, after homework ends, sports starts and I don't get home for another two hours. School is always my first priority when it comes to choosing between lacrosse, nordic skiing, or school. There comes a point though, when I really would just like to go and ski for an hour, just an hour, but my homework gets in the way. Teenagers should be able to live a little when it comes to the time they get after school, but assignments, tests, and homework are holding them back. Their dreams might not consist of science, math, or english. Their dreams might include sports or art. School and education are definitely one of the most important parts to a teenagers pathway of life, but their life after school might be just as important. We spend too much time in school and not enough time outside because when most teenagers get home, all they can think about it sleep.

My point is, the life of a park city teenager can be pretty fun, but also depriving, slow, and amazingly annoying. We, as teenagers, need more sleep!!!

Shop Till You Drop

Hi! My name's Stormy and I absolutely love shopping. I will shop anytime that I can. Many times every week, I ask my mom if she will take me shopping. She usually says no, unless I don't have anything to do that day. My mom usually takes me shopping for snowboard clothes, but that's it! If I do shop, then I usually have to pay with my own money, which doesn't bother me too much. I love to shop for clothes, shoes, makeup, nail polish, jewelry, you name it!

My favorite stores are the Gap, Forever 21, and the Roxy store. I go to Forever 21 at least once a month. Even though I have to drive about 45 minutes to get there, it's worth it. They have everything there! They have bathing suits, coats, dresses, T-shirts, skirts and shorts, jewelry, nail polish, etc.

I also love the company "Roxy". I have many of their clothes, bathing suits, snowboarding outfits, backpacks, and so much more. There's a Roxy store sort of close to where I live. Trust me, I go there so many times, it's like I live there! My mom and sister also love Roxy. I don't shop at Roxy as much as usual.

Day is To Slow in a Life of Snow

Hello my name is Sicily but I go by Bambam and today I leave for my U14 championships but the day is moving way too slow and I still have a five hour drive ahead and thats not so exciting. Tomorrow is slalom and that will be a long day of big ruts if it's not icy, So pray for ice! we have every one on my team but three and my friend is getting down on her self cause she is the last girl in but at least she made it in cause other wise her dad wouldn't let her ski next year so she is super lucky.
Right now me in my friends are in a fight about what skis are better and I know you might think that silly but skis and snow is are life we are on snow all week from 1:30pm to 6:00pm and on week ends 9:00am to 3:00pm so we have no free time but we still manage to keep are grades above a D so that's good and towards the end of the quarter that is were we get screwed by racing and it's the end of the quarter Friday and I am away all week and that really stinks because when I get back I have to take a make up test in math and get my other home work done by Monday so lets hope I do.
So you know how we were talking about skis early I was arguing Rossi was better and it is I don't know why they like Fisher and Atomic they are super stiff and there lace ups are super expensive and have the time they don't come in your size. Rossi make every thing they have lace ups in every size (by the way lace ups are a race boots should have told you earlier sorry) and they are supper comfortable they are still really cold like all lace ups. Well, that’s all for today bye.

Stalkers....

Why are you reading this? Are you trying to stalk me or something? Am I your new personal interest that you cant go a day without? Well... good. I approve. I would stalk me too if I could. If you are going to continue to be obsessed with me, then you should know at least a little bit about me.

Most of the people reading this blog will most likely know who is writing it, for those who don't: My name is Hayley, and this is not a choice. On my own free time, I would never ever write my own blog.
First, I am not a very talented person, and I don't do very much outside of school. I'm not very good at school either, but that's just me. I have a horse, and he looks just like spirit. His name is Sundance, he is a brat. I play guitar and piano quite well, and have taught myself almost all of it. I play volleyball, but I’m not sure if I want to keep playing it. I honestly ha- no, my mother told me that hate is a strong word. I honestly dislike the pop music these days, all with that Justin Beiber thing. What is that anyway? A soap?

Well, because this blog is devoted completely to me, I get to say what I want, right? I’m in Miss Hookers 2R class and I know that we’re the good children. There are a lot of different kids in my class, a few of them I don't agree with. My mother told me that if I cant say anything nice, don’t say it at all. Kids wonder why I’m so quiet in class.

This has been a wonderful blog with your host,
